PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:
Today's library is more than just books. But for some libraries, adding an astronomical telescope to their item catalog can be a big decision. Telescopes seem complicated, expensive, and hard to maintain. Keith Short of the Rockford Amateur Astronomers will talk about his journey in convincing a local library to join the Library Telescope Program. He will discuss how he approached the library, sources of funding, and alignment of his astronomy club's resources to support and sustain the effort.
